1. Exfoliation

Please exfoliate the entire bikini area before and after waxing. Wait at least 48 hours after waxing to begin scrubbing the skin. A salt or sugar scrub is recommended using circular movements going against the hair growth when exfoliating. DO NOT exfoliate the labia 3 to 4 days before you visit. This will help prevent ingrown hairs and will also help the hair come out more easily when waxing.

First time waxers, the more you exfoliate before you come in the easier the hair will come out!

2. Hair length

Hair needs to be at least ¼ inch long for waxing (about 2 to 3 weeks growth).

3. 1st Bikini/Brazilian Wax

For your first bikini/brazilian wax, trim a bit if you have long hair. Long hairs make the estheticians job a little harder and may give you more discomfort.

4. No Tanning

Do NOT tan 24 hours before or after waxing.

5. No Exercise

No exercise 24 hours after bikini, brazilian, chest or back wax.

6. Wax More Often

If you want less pain, do not wait longer that 4 to 6 weeks between waxing appointments or shave between appointments. If you do not wait too long the 2nd time the hairs will be shorter, thinner and sparser because they are not fully matured.

7. Reduce Pain

Taking Advil before waxing might help reduce pain or inflammation.

8. Facial Waxing

For facial waxing, consult with Carli if you are currently using any topical or oral medication prescribed by a dermatologist to help with acne or fine lines. Please refrain from waxing if you are currently taking antibiotics.

9. First Timers

I do not recommend your first wax being the day before a big event (wedding, vacation, anniversary). It is good to give your body a few days to adjust to having the hair removed from the follicle. I would suggest coming in for two waxings before the big event which means 2 months time to get both appointments in.

Your first waxing is not always the ???perfect??? wax. Hair grows in 3 stages and it can take up to 3 waxings to have all of the hair be on the same growth cycle. Exfoliation can also help all of the hairs grow in more evenly. This means a smoother wax.

10. Ten Days to Three Weeks

How long before hair grows back? This depends on the individual. Anywhere from 10 days to 3 weeks.
